About Every twenty minutes or so the giant peak at the back of this quiraing of active and extinct volcanoes sitting in the centre of the Bromo caldera, explodes into life shoving a plume of smoke into the air. Te view at sunrise is spectacular and the scene could easily be a set of Jurassic Park.

a very nice landscape shot ian. good that the landscape surrounding bromo is barren to allow for an unimpeded view. this is a place that has been on my list of places to go for some time now. perhaps this year i'll get around to it.

warmest regards ~ james

Wow, this is amazing!! Looks like endless possibilities for great shots in that area... and an active volcano to boot!! Wonderful. Cheers, Gary

The sharpness and color really strikes me. But the composition including mountaind in the foreground creates an excellent sence of distence making you feel you're at a safe distance from this volcano. Keep up the great work.

I would have given you a 7 just for going there. Great shot. Doesn't make you a little nervous?

Very dynamic image. Wonderful razor sharp details and superb clarity. An imposing view. I remember seeing this same view years ago when I visited Java but it wasn't smoking then. at least it's releasing pressure while it's doing this. Very impressive image Ian. Great work.

Cheers - Ann :)

Hello Jan! What a beautiful landscape! I went to Indonesia some years ago and obviously I visited the Bromo vulcan. I remember it very well, it was an exceptional experience and your picture helps me to remember it. Very well composed and toned, with a great use of lightning, congratulations and so many thanks again.
Peppino.
