This is a superb capture, Larry. These guys are hard to get. We have 4 pair that feed regularly at our feeder, but I sure can't get a good shot. After trying to do so, I admire more this great one of yours.

Red is difficult especially in bright light...it tends to smear with loss of detail...this was an overcast day...thanks again Ann

In all seriousness though. I've heard red is a hard colour to capture. Looks like you have it down fine though. I haven't tried so I wouldn't know. :)

Yep it's red alright. If this isn't one of the cutest red faces I've ever seen. Love the hairdo and it looks like you've caught him in the middle of dinner. He doesn't look too happy about being watched while he eats. Great capture and nice composition.
