I like the subject you chose Candida. It has nice colors and lines. However, two things you ought to keep in mind in the future. First, I'd switch to the manual focus setting for this shot. Especially with a shallow DOF, its very hard to get the auto focus to do what you want. Second, I'd cut way back on the flash, at least 1 1/2 stops. The flash as its set up isnt made for shots like these so its necessary to cut it back quite a bit. Cutting back the flash will brighten the colors but also soften the shadows. Keep shooting though, I think you have a good eye.
