Great shot. Perfect selective focus. His wings look like they have seen better days.:) I wonder if dragon flies fights among themselves by biting eachothers' wings.

I like the dark background. It makes great contrast with the green eyes and the light colored body. I agree with Ann Nida about the worn look of the wings. That detail adds character to the photo. Del.

Hi Ralf, strong shot, the red comes out beautifully against the sullen grey background. I do find the DOF just a little shallow in this one, though. The delicate patterns in the wings are so beautiful with this anglee of the light, it's a pitty they turn a bit soft on focus in the dragon-fly's right wings... Only a minor detail.

Amazing details here. The deliactre veins in the wings even show the hard lif this poor guy must have had with the little tears. He's so crisp and clear in all the right places. excellent DOF and a great composition. The spalshes of green eyes agaisnt the red leaf makes for a lovely colour interest against the almost monotoned background. A great shot Ralf.
