Love the vertical format, strong shadows and the contrast level...am torn between the 2 images...i do agree with others about the horizon line being a bit too high because of position of people Strong comp,Thilo....hugs,gayle

hi,Andre....i used a word that is flagged and wasn't quick enough to remove before hit add comment....it wasn't an offensive word, but one that causes questions,so i understand, but thought it would have been approved by now....they have a sensitive system set up now and better safe than sorry...

I like the cracks and the uneven pavement they are walking on. The path to the future may very well look like that, but we must be brave and move on forward. I like that you left a lot of pavement in the foreground in front of the three figures really helps to add some drama to the already dramatic shadow legs. Cool series of images~

Hi Thilo, intersting to see the difference in feel between the two photos. I do believe the first one has a stronger impact, at least on me. The approach works well, though. Maybe it could be combined with the landscape format, emphasising the width of the scenery. Good, and very moody shot.
Cheers,
Hugo

This seems to me a far stronger photo than the other, Thilo. The shadows, the perspective of the road and the light behind the people all direct the eye so powerfully... When you can produce virtuoso images like this, I am mystified by your obvious attraction to toy cameras... the only toy I will use is one like my mobile phone that, despite its serious limitations, can still produce a technically not-too-awful picture...

hi there, i am torn between the 2...i like different elements from each...and i agree about having the people a bit ahead so horizon line further down....love the shadows and especially the vertical format....very nice contrast level regards, gayle (was hoping some would return once they found out not banned, but was a bug!)

Strong capture Thilo, it regenerates a strong feeling as well, I like the way the sun located in the cadre and the silhouette, I like the Wide angle effect in here, nice lens for sure, how do you recommend the Sigma? Very well done buddy, Cheers,

Interesting shot. I like both pictures, the shadows in this add a dramatic edge. I would have liked to see them a few more steps ahead so that they would stand out more from the horizon. Nice composition just the same.

Hi Thilo, I went back to compare this one with "Seeking The Sun". I like both of them about equal. I think this one may be a little stronger due to the detail gained in general by concentrating on the shadows. However I think I prefer the composition on "Seeking the Sun". I really prefer the work on "Shadow Hunters" below the horizon. I may be nit picking a little on this but I feel the sky just above the middle figure may be a little too bright. I suppose it probably needed to be this way to emphasis the shadows in the lower half.
May be for me, the best one of all would be the composition of the "Seeking the Sun" with the shadow play of "Shadow Hunters" :) Andre
