This is a great capture of the moon with fantastic details on the surface. That is some heavy glass utilized for the capture, thanks much for the comment to my image Guido, in regards to your question I wasn't in a helicopter but rather on an overlook which is easily accessible.

Guido, this is fabulous. I see you went to a lot of trouble to get it. That sure paid off. I love how you used the telescope switched to a homemade lens for your camera. Your capture of the features and the craters is marvelous. Mary

Thanks lisa Mirror lock was used at 1/60 iso 200 with selftimer. Too much noise at iso 400. The lens is one meter long and is a cheap telescope .I simply replaced the oculair by the camera.Well, not that simple. The setup consists of a 2 lens set in front ,fixed diafragma half way the tube and the camera at the end. Camera on tripod and the front end of the lens leaning on the windowsill. Raw software/Capture One.Film Extra Shadow. White Balance so that RGB are in line.Save jpg grayscale. Made 2 exposures in raw, then gradient them in ps. After resize, sharpening in ps as follows: Make a darken layer/usm 400-0,3-00 adjusted level in this darken layer to get the craters visible. Flatten layers.

Fantastic! What a great shot of the moon. I can't believe this was taken with 1/60 shutter speed. Looks like a long exposure shot to me. The sharpness of the photo and the detail seen is unbelievable. I guess this must be due to taking the photo in the RAW format which I have yet to use on my camera.
Absolutely brillant.
