Here's some suggestions from another 20D fanatic:

- I leave my camera on JPEG Large (Unless I'm doing a paying gig, when I shoot RAW + JPEG L

- The default settings are not as colorful or as sharp as you'd like, so you may want to boost Parameter 1 sharpness and color
