Wayne,
your series of photos at Whitby are superb, I'm taking the family there tomorrow. I fear you have made such a good job with these shots that it will be very difficult to even approach the quality.

Thanks for the inspiration.

Good job Wayne.

Looks pretty sharp to me. The image is saved at 134 kb and the last I heard, we are now allowed 300 kb file sizes so there really isn't any reason to use more than a 5 or 10 % compression on images this size.

I love the movement in the clouds and the great perspective down low on the water as it is. I find the rooftops and the white sign along the road a little distracting. I think I might have been tempted to move a couple of steps to the right and panned left to avoid them.

Wayne, this is indeed lovely.
I always save my jpegs at the highest setting I can, so long as I keep within the 200kb limit, I don't know how much of a difference this makes, but at least I can be sure that I'm getting the maximum sharpness.

Composition is very good. Image just looks a little soft. Maybe you had trouble focusing with the red filter. I focus before I put the filter on. Then I adjust it for infrared. You probably need to do that whether you are using infrared or not. Good work. I am going somewhere near there the end of March. Wish me luck!

Thanks for the comments.

Lisa on the original print the abbey is pinsharp. The clouds are blurred due a combination of long exposure and a very windy day. I think the problem with a slight softness comes from the fact that when I save the image as a Jpeg for uploading to the site, I save at a quality setting of 70%.

Just amazing. Love this shot and the mood it conveys. My eye is just pulled right in to that abby. Did you use anything to blur it a little or is that how the camera picked it up?
