John, I'd have to say that I rather like the centered comp on this one. It seems to point to the cloud activity. I also like the patterns of the dune and the bush down to the base of the lighthouse. Looks like you used a polarizer, which brought out the nice sky, but caused the bottom to lose a little detail in the darks. Maybe a stop underexposed? Regardless, very nice.

Good light and nice clouds. I think centring the light house works well for this composition. The bit of sand and the trees frame the shot well. But, I think a slight crop from the top can give the composition a little more balance.

Great colors. I agree with Dawna about the composition though. The sky looks very cool in this one man! Nice work.

beautiful cloud formation and a rich, deep blue sky. I might have made the lighthouse just a bit less centered to make the capture a bit less static.

I really like this one. You broke a rule by centering the lighthouse and I think it really works great. All those diagonals from the clouds and the beach really bring your eye in. The polarizer really adds nice drama to the sky too. -Scott

agreed - good space at top of image with a detailed dramatic sky. I would have like just a little more space on the right side, so the lighthouse was not centred, but the image works anyhow.

I like the way the clouds seem to swirl around the tip of the lighthouse. Leaving the top 1/3 of the photo just sky also gives it a bigger feel - it helps to balance the composition and bring the attention to the lighthouse. Had you cropped it down the ground would have pulled too much focus. Very nice!
