Like this shot - hate titles.. really daft...what I see and hook on to is not what others will/might see. Years ago I got so fed up with titles I called everything The Thatched Cottage.. made me larf.
If really really relevant OK, can refer to an event/happening/emotion..and like here it is to identify one pic from another ..personally try not read the explantion/title until I`ve looked at the picture.. "a thousand words etc..."..thank you for your comments .. very kind - scarlet x

Allrighty then. Title officially changed from "Lonely Christmas" to "Unphased by the Hype". Other options were:

- Determined Christmas
- One Gift Left
- If I Have To Go To One More Office Party...
- Damn Photographer

I have never changed I title before, but the feedback from here and other sites I frequent was overwhelming. I was shoving the title up this photo and was being too close-minded.

Thanks for your comments!

Jim

Thanks everyone for your comments. And I concur. I think you're right about the title. I think I was forcing the title on the image rather than having the image lead the title.

Maybe something as simple as "The Holidays", or "The Busy Season".... would have been better.

Thanks! I appreciate the openness!

Jim

Philly?
The title is nice, but to me, not apt. A guy is just walking down an alley and you catch him, with a slightly too slow of shutter speed. To me, he does not really look like a part of the picture. finding someone on a bench might have worked better (for my taste).

Love the shot, the contrast and the lights are just perfect. The man himself however, doesn't convey loneliness to me. Like Sandra said, better if his head had been bowed and didn't seem to be moving as fast (the blur gives this impression). Better still, someone sitting alone on the bench, though that may be a little cliche'd.
On second thoughts, a different title would have been better.

I really like this shot. As for the title, the subject walking away head down would show lonelyness more.
still beautiful capture.
