Imageopolis Featured Photo Critique Nice capture & the choice of tone is excellent Ina. The inclusion of Mr Caruso in Rigoletto looks great in relation to the entire composition & contrast looks good. Just an opinion, I'd crop a little more off from bottom portion. Nice editing job thru PS, regards.

Hi Aram, and thanks for the Sciascia photo! This is too, too funny!!! I love it! When I saw your comment in my email, I didn't realize there was a picture attached! I went to that link, and that was it! Later, after I replied to you I saw your picture on the thread - extremely funny, you read the poster on the wall and added Sciascia! Thanks, I had a good laugh!

Wow Aram, you could read the poster on the wall! That's wonderful! I'm glad you noticed the "Moments Before" scene :)))) Maybe there should be a Moments After? Thanks for the lovely comment!

TOO CUTE! Enrico is the only person who cares the presence of the photograph! Was photography his real vocation or is he just curious?!

And the "moments before" was truely good joke! Bravo for all the story.

The wood texture of disk storage matches beautifully with the sepia.

I do hope that you don't mind me asking Leonardo Sciascia ("Il Maestro di Regalpetra") to join the attendees as Guest of Honor!!

(The original photo is taken by Ferdinando Scianna, 1964, see http://www.regalpetra.it/home.htm)

Cheers.

Hi Brian, I guess outside opera, it would have been Broadway and other stage musicals like operetta in those days! Thanks for the comment!

Hi Ina,
The only difference that I have seen between friends and associates is the you are notified if someone makes you their friend.
I hope you are having a good weekend. Our cafe is closed on Sunday and Monday, so those are going to be "catch-up" days for Suz and I. We spent half of yesterday and will be spending a good part of today "working the kinks out." Let me tell you, there are plenty of them!
Thanks again for all your encouragement!
Kathy

Very creative use of the Holga filter, Ina, with a bonus of Caruso. Your pictorial language is expanding into exciting vistas. Cheers, Gyuri

:-) I can tell you it was hard to catch Caruso, especially with that funny fluorescent lighting :)

Hi Yahya, Caruso is one of the greatest opera voices that existed (1873 - 1921). Look him up in Google, and you'll see. Thanks for the nice comment!

Thanks for the fun comment Daniel, I'll be back on Tuesday with my comments, sorry for the delay! Yes, I've been following Caruso like a papparazzo, with my camera, and now I'm after Maria Callas and others! Cheers, Ina

Hi Mark, I've been waiting patiently in the library with my camera ready for Caruso to stroll into the Music section; it was a challenging photo shoot, as he is always surrounded by fans. This has been a very lucky moment! And indeed he was furious and said something outrageous about me and the camera, but I shall still treasure this moment :-)

Thank you Susie, I have fun doing these, I'm glad if I can make you chuckle :) I'll be back tomorrow night with my comments, usually I'm off Sundays & Mondays, I'm just writing replies now... got to get organized, I don't know HOW you guys do it! But I'm glad you took time off your busy schedule to look and write. Many thanks, Ina

Thanks Neal, as I said to Mundh in my reply - it took the right timing for me to catch Caruso right then and there at the Hamilton Central Library, he was always surrounded by fans, it was such a lucky moment (wink-wink) and lucky shot!

Thanks Kathy for taking time to look, and write, from your extremely busy schedule! I'm delayed until tomorrow night with my comment writing, but will catch up with you! I'm really glad you didn't wipe me off your associates list :-)
What is the difference between friends and associates? I have no idea! Take care, don't need to reply now! Best regards, Ina

Enrico fits right in with the rest of the browsers, Ina! I like the posted image the best of the two. I love these tones, and the vignetting works well as a frame. Well done!

Another good one. Caruso, to say nothing of Verdi, would be so amazed at modern music technology, but it's all for naught without the original performer. Nicely thought out. As usual.

Hi Eb, a Holga filter is a photoshop (mainly) vignetting filter, to make a picture look as if it was taken with a Holga type camera.
Thanks for your nice comment!

Eb Mueller Eb Mueller   {K:24960} 12/4/2005
Ina, great light and placement of layered picture between the the two "real" subjects. As they are oblivious, their backs turned, it adds to the humour. I will profess ignorance and ask: what is a Holga filter?

Ina this one is really realistic looking. You are getting better and better at this layering thing. I had to look twice to see if it was someone in costume or dropped in. Nice one. I like the tones as well!

I like this much tighter crop. It's totally tongue in cheek humor, and I'm just expecting him to say something really outrageous at any time. I had to mentally take off his mustache in order to recognize him. Yep that's Caruso.
