About The butterflies are 60ft in the air and 75-100ft away....I use my Canon 580EX flash tuned up 3x to get the 1/125sec and f/8 needed to stop them and keep the DOF in control, plus at this point in time there was wind to judge and fog. All the more fun.....

Thanks Jim... This is in Pacific Grove, between Monterey and Carmel. The butterflies do a stop here on their Winter migration South, in the same small grove of eucalyptus trees. They are there starting in Oct. The other area is near Santa Cruz just across Monterey Bay.........Rich
