Thank you my brother! The view is really narrow in this shot (so I could isolate the TransAmerica building) but in real life it extends from beyond the Golden Gate bridge to beyond the Bay Bridge! Thanks for the comment! :)

Joe: Caught the angle in the BG but it's deceptive. More important to have the building vertical and straight anyway. It was, in fact, the Carnelian Room in the Bank of America Building. Besides that shot from the roof . . . which we can't get . . . since the 9/11 security changes, the view from above the bay bridge on Treasure Island has been closed to photogs. Still, there's no shortage of good shots and a macro lens gives you a whole other world to shoot . . . I appreciate your comment. I can assume that Anytown, USA . . . just South of Cognito . . . is near San Francisco?

D50 gave you a nice, crisp saleable shot. The land comes out at slight angle in the background. But it's probably nothing to consider. This was taken from the 'Carnelian Room'? The 'pyramid' is built on rollers, as you say, meant to avoid damage in a quake (another problem they have to design for is high wind, probably moreso in the building you took this from (if it is the 'BofA' building, or whatever it is now, it was also that roof used in opening scenes of Dirty Harry - but you can't get up there).

Good Morning Sheila! Marlyce's boss was swimming the Annual Sharkfest Alcatraz swim and we were his "Staff Photographers" . . . his swim from Alcatraz to Aquatic Park took 42 minutes and so I (Naturally) took off four days from work!! We went almost EVERYWHERE and played photog tourist - My first official (2-day--Saturday and Sunday DON'T count) vacation in 12 years!! It was fun and we were up past midnight twice in a row (not bad for people who arise at 4:00 AM)!! Very tired, but quite happy . . . and back at work. :)

Thanks Leo . . . the building there is built to MOVE . . . so it would (theoretically) survive an earthquake. It DID survive the big 1989 quake . . . as did the building I took this shot from.
