  Photography Forum: Donor Only Forum:
  Q. A Radical Suggestion

Asked by [[dead account]]    (K=6692) on 4/24/2005
I love the hell out of this site and visit here whenever I can, but in the year that I've been here, I've noticed that it's become more difficult to see what's uploaded here on a daily basis because of the sheer volume of images this site receives.

There is a lot of amazing photography to be found here, but far too much gets past me because of the limited time I get to spend here each day.

Maybe it's time to limit donors to only one upload in a 24 hour period and to not allow non-donors to upload at all.

I think this would help in several different ways:

- It would help with the server and storage situtation that I would assume is getting more difficult to deal with as time goes by

- If people were only allowed to upload one image a day, maybe they would be more judicious in their choices

- It would be easier to sift through the new images section to see what new photos have been uploaded in a 24 hour period.

Maybe there should also be some incentive or automatic system for pruning out old images to further reduce the database. I try to do that with my own portfolio from time to time when it's obvious that certain works or images are not up to par.
