I've heard some rumblings about making only donors able to make comments on folks photos & or win awards. Please do not do this. I have had several family members & friends join UF just so they could keep up with my photos. They may or may not post, one has become a member & then a donor. Just by word of mouth they have spread good things about this site, and encouraged others to come take a peek around. This is for the most part an artist's haven filled with some really good folk, let's not become unwelcoming to the new folks coming in to take a peek around. When I first started I would get a comment or two, being able to click on that photographer's work & comment on their stuff, or ask for suggestions & help is what motivated me into becoming a member. I've won no awards, or made no huge impressions here, but I've gotten into my craft, and learned a lot. I've also met some FANTASTIC people along the way. I am on my second year of being a donor, but if we start to exclude non-donors from awards & or making comments, I'll not be hanging around much, or renewing next year. Just my play on it all.
