  Q. Grey Market

Does any body know just what "grey market" means? I have been looking at camera prices and the lowest ones are from Japan or some other place with no USA warranty, usually no manual and no accessories. I was told there is an international warranty. Are these items truly brand name, knockoffs, refurbs or what ever?
