  Q. Bug In Menu - Need Feedback

Asked by al shaikh   Donor  (K=15790) on 1/15/2006
Hi,

There is a bug in the menu caused by a third party, we need to know if you would rather have tabs or drop down menus as we currently have for the fix.

Please let us know which you prefer, we will try to take feedback offered here and via email to choose what we are going to do next.

Menu is faster to access what you want... but as with all systems - the easier you try to make things, the, the more likely are bugs... (as we have seen).

Personally, I have no real preference, but if mantainence time is too great on the menu - maybe tabs would be a good alternative

I would prefer the pull downs IF they were accessible to me throughout the site. At the moment, they are obscured by the Google text ads on all pages except My Usefilm. If you are prepared to solve that problem, I vote for pull downs. If that would be too much trouble (it may be an Opera problem) then count me as voting for tabs.

Whichever is easier to maintain.

Usability wise I think the pull downs work best, but if maintenance is an issue then I woudl go for whatever is easier. As is I'm seeing the right menu running off the screen on Firefox and not IE (1:20pm 1/16/06).

I can see the menus just fine but I don't have a prefrence on what to use. Whatever is easier for you!

The menu is right justified in netscape 8.1 and runs off the screen and causes a scroll bar at the bottom of the screen in 1024x768 mode.....

sounds like the problem is confined to a few specific browsers. Do you really want to change the menu system to something worse to get around a bug in the JS engine of a browser?
Best get together with the creator of the menu system and get them to fix it, you paid good money for it and should get a good product.

Or better yet get Mozilla to fix their browser (fat chance though) :)

All fixed
