  Q. Photo Tours

Asked by Mark Beltran    (K=32612) on 3/31/2004
I remember a while back there were tours especially geared for photographers. Are there still some offered and has anyone been in one of these photo tours?

Thanks Christine;

I was thinking of taking one of those tours; specifically for places like NYC, or one of the national parks.

Hi Mark,

I had the opportunity to participate in a Snowmobile Tour of Yellowstone NP this past February. all of the participants were photographers - film and digital. The instructors were great. They provide excellent instructions in the field and at their evening meetings after dinner. Their experience in the are insured that were at the best locations for the lighting available.

They offer a similar tour 5-6 day tour in the summer. I understand that they will have you in the park before sunrise and won't get you back to your hotel until after sunset. if you can handle that much photography, you might look into their tours.

Found these on the web...thought you might want to take a look at them...

If you go to Google and search "Photography Tours", several are found, you just have to weed through the yuck ones to find the good. Hope this helps!

I am going to take the photo tour for 'Ulimate Utah' in August that 'Lightchase photography' puts on. I know the two photographers who do this. Check out the website for more info.

this is strange, I just posted a reply to this forum but it didn't show up. So I'll try again....
Check out Lightchase PHotography website for phototours. www.geocities.com/lightchasephotography/WelcomePage.html
I am going to take the 'ultimate Utah' tour in August. Its a nice deal as they only take a small group and they assist with using filters and metering for tricky lighting situations.

Rocky Mountain School of Photography has several options available for the beginning to advanced photographer. It is a school to help advance techniques but they go to some great locations for less money than some of the other operations. Even if you are adavanced and learn nothing you still have some great locations to visit for your photography pleasure! Check out their web site

Ultimate Utah tour. Looks interesting. Prices certainly appear reasonable. You'll have to see how the pizza bash goes when you hit Bryce. And maybe head off to the Society's convention, nearby, after you are done. Looks very interesting.

hi Joe,
I'm back from the Ultimate Utah trip that Lightchase photography puts on. I learned so much and Utah is so beautiful. I definately recommend this trip. Check it out. Mark Rassmussen has a page here on Usefilm as well. He is the master behind it all. I'll be posting images from the trip during the next few weeks.

Need a female photographer to join me for a northern lights photo tour. Mark Rasmussen (take a look at his page on usefilm) has a photo tour arranged as a part of Lightchase photography tours, for Alaska and northern lights Feb 1-9th for a very reasonable cost. Please email me if you are interested. It would be great if I can find someone to share a room with to keep the cost of the trip lower (for both of us). email me for details. niksown@hotmail.com
Need to know asap.
Nicole
