  Q. Various types of film

Asked by Marta Resende    (K=0) on 8/16/2005
Good afternoon, i'm a photographer starter and i was confronted with b&w photography, wich i love, although, i am a little bit confused about various types of film. I'm an Ilford adept, however i would like to know the big differences between: Ilford Delta 400 , HP5 Plus 400 , XP2 Super 400
Thanks, marta

Ilford Delta 400 = Newer style of B&W film, some say sharper and has better tonality.
Ilford HP5 400 = Older style film, easier to develop yourself. Pushes better then Delta 100.
Ilford XP2 = Newer style B&W that uses C-41 processing that any one hour lab can develop. Scans well but unless printed on true B&W papers the contrast will look flat.
