  Q. Question about TFP.....

Asked by Mike George    (K=3429) on 4/5/2005
I have been approached by a model's manager to do some TFP sessions. I frequently do this for folks that I know. I don't know this person at all and know he does use the models for everything from advertising to calendars. My question is, I fear him using my work without crediting me or compensating me for future use of the images for letting me photograph his model(s). Is there something I should get put into writing about this? Any suggestions folks? And Moderator, I am sorry if this is in the wrong category, I could not find a similar thread anywhere so feel free to move this as needed....
Thanks to all......

You should be having your model sign a release all the time, for a TFP session where you were concerned about the images being used for more than just promotion, have the model sign one were that's specified in the release. The book "Legal Forms for Photogrpahers" I believe has one you can print out and use (I know I've seen one before, I'm pretty sure that's were it was). Just make sure it's well understood by everyone just everyone else expects to do with the images, and that everything is down in writing.

Peter

Thanks Peter. I always have the model sign a release after every session. However, my release form doesn't specifically spell out the use of the photos. I guess I should change that somehow.

i feel sorry for that but ur work is ur ur work
it is from u and to u
and any one use it without ur permission or without telling u is making an illeagal operation and must be punished for that
ah u can ask him in a friendly way first to have ur permission because u do time and time means money

hey feel free to ask any time

Thanks for the input Kareem. So far they have done nothing, just asked me to do work. I haven't done anything for them either. I am basically hoping to get some suggestions as to what I should put into the agreement or to watch for.
