  Q. good portrait film (color film)

Asked by M *    (K=2614) on 8/2/2004
What do you recommend for portrait color film?? I want something that gives good flesh tones but still has vibrant colors. I've used fuji nph 400 but thought i'd look into other films. ISO dosnt really matter I will be shooting with strobes.

Kodak VC portra. VC stands for Vibrant color, has a bit more saturation the NPS, NPH and Kodak NC. I love VC portra and Fuji NPS.

If you can get into slides try Fuji Astia. Awesome film.

Elangs.

Fuji NPH also makes a 160 that I used to use for my beach/people portarits. That one had really nice tones as well.

that would be NPC or NPZ, NPH is 400 only.
Indeed a nice film, but doesn't scan well in my experience.

I stand corrected once again.
