  Q. Know any good books on photography?

Asked by sarah mills    (K=4) on 5/12/2002
I have been looking for photography help books for awhile. I have found it hard to find any that really help. The are either to basic of to advanced. I am also interested in books on making a darkroom. Any suggestions would be very helpful! Thanks!

Hello,

I have found that Ansel Adams camera series to be helpful. Also, you can look for Kodak's Joy of Photography. It's an old book, but they constantly update it.

If you want some online help, PhotographyTips.com has sections for subjects, technique, action, ect. After reading some choice options, I revised some of my photo techniques. I am waiting for the roll to come back.

Another good site would be TakeGreatPictures.com. They have a help section, along with columns by pros.

Good luck, and happy hunting,
Jason

Why not look at some of our members work, that's relevant, fresh, and absolutely magnificent?

Michael Busselle has written some trully inspirational books!!!

The "Better Picture Guide To:" series is absolutely fantastic!

Can I also suggest you buy a copy of "UNTAMED ALASKA - 10th Anniversary Edition". This outstanding book by our own Steve Kaufman is amazing!!! Here is a little more about the book itself: http://www.naturephotography.net/untamed.html

I'm sure you'll enjoy and learn from the above like I have.

Regards,
Peter

For beginners I always recommend the National Geographic Photography Field Guide by Burian and Caputo.
