About My family - picture from the 1930's.

Thank you John Dittrich for the quote from the Iliad:

As the generations of leaves,
so the generations of men.
Down to earth the wind shoots the leaves,
but forest trees burst forth again
in the hour when spring is born:
so one generation of men
dies off while another grows strong.

WOw, amazing photo, and those words go perfect with it! I love the whole idea and mood of it, but I also love the colors and lighting and everything else! Amazing work... I love it :)

Another fine result of your new experiments. The hazy golden forest perfectly fits the vintage sepia characters, nostalgy, remembrance, tradition finely blended. Food for both the eye and the mind, even the heart. Warm regards, Gyuri

This is a spooky picture Ina. Reminds me of ghosts waiting for people to come wondering into the trees. Then again, I watch too many scarey movies. The background is beautiful and the people are blended in wonderfully. Quit trying to scare me I'm going to bed.

(With sincere apologies to Homer and John Dittrich for this spiteful interference:)

As the generations of men,
so the generations of leaves.
In the hour when sping is born
The forest burst forth, hence
Down to earth the wind shoots the leaves
So the generation of men
Who grows strong for a while
Dies off forever
As the generations of leaves.

Thank you John, I'm still speechless. Goosebumps too. Second time today! This is fantastic! May I quote this in the "About"? As coming from you?

didn't post right..try again:

As the generations of leaves,
so the generations of men.
Down to earth the wind shoots the leaves,
but forest trees burst forth again
in the hour when spring is born:
so one generation of men
dies off while another grows strong.

Oh, thanks for clarifying that, Ina. I had misunderstood. Shouldn't make any difference to the way we look at a picture, of course...

Keep experimenting!

Best wishes, Len

Hi Ina ... NOW I understand, LOL! In your reply to Kathy you said "The other two images are not mine" ... and of course you referred to your earlier uploads! Should always read the about better! Thanks for your reply :)

Hi Len, Maybe I didn't explain it right in my "About". Actually, it is one single old picture of my family having a picnic in the 30's. The other picture, is that of the forest, which I took here recently. Thanks very much for your comment, best regards, Ina

Great idea. Love it (though a little disappointed that they aren't all members of the same family because it rather spoils the illusion - you can only work with what you have, of course!).
Best wishes, Len.

I feel like the ghosts from the past are watching me now that they've been given a portal to this dimension through your photos. They all seem to be looking straight at us through the constraints of time. A very strong and bold collection of emotions being drawn out here. The fall leaves background add to the the feeling. Great work here Ina. Well done indeed.

Cheers - Ann :)
