About This was the first week in May and this guy was about 1/2 mile away and he was on a mission....FOOD! He covered the ground so fast....look at that stride. This is in Yellowstone National Park. Near the junction that goes to Upper and Lower Falls and then on West to the West Entrance.

It,s havy to see the bear in the wild but it is better than you see one in the zoo It,s beautiful to life next the park with all the wildlife arround you.
I hope you lucky with the 20d and the 600mm
Regards Rene

Fascinating shot. He really does look intent on finding food. Good thing you didn't get any closer. We've had some unfortunate bear-human encounters up here in Canada recently.

Yes, I did these May pictures to whet your appetite! :) I went back and corrected the information. Didn't realize it said Carmel instead of Cody. This is on one of the loop roads through the park. When you come in from the east entrance and go to the right (North) the road takes you to the falls(Lower, Upper and Tower) and at the intersection you can go left towards the west entrance. In May there are bear all over as they are coming out of hibernation to eat. You may want to bring along or get while you are here pepper spray. :) You are going to love it here. Pat

Lee, I feel so very fortunate to live next to Yellowstone National Park. The wildlife in my back yard and the Park has been awesome. I think it would be fun to get a bunch of usefilm photographers together and spend a few days taking tons of pictures. I'm not sure how to organize such a thingl but Cody, being a tourist town could sure accomodate quite a bunch, and off season would make it nice for not fighting traffic. Thanks for your very kind comments. Pat

Kind Regards
