Nicole, this is the early morning light... There is a river at the right, and the unusual quality of this light comes from the sun getting reflected from the river surface... Regards

I've seen many examples of this well photographed subject and I've got to say, this is one of the best. The lighting is just spectacular. What a great vantage point. Must have been an awesome hike.
