About Toxic gasses and boiling hot springs wee the order of the day here...at one time. Now all is lifeless. Sort of has an eerie beauty to it doesn't it? Taken at one of the many hot springs in Yellowstone National Park.

No need to apologize. Yes I do use the zone system for my lanscapes/nature shots and use the Gossen Starlite meter. It is great for zone mapping.

Gaetan, I apologize in advance for using your comment area to ask you another question. Could you comment on wether or not you utilize the zone system in your shots? I am just curious and by no means am I asking you to reveal your secrets to fantastic exposures! Just curious if you find the zone system helpful in your color work? Currently I am using a Pentax digital spot meter and the zone system with some success for bw/color. Any comments are welcome good or bad, maybe some advice haha :-). Also, thanks for your reply regarding the scanner. It looks as though I will need to save my money for some time in order to make the transition to medium format! What an expensive hobby :-) Thanks again for your time. Regards, b. hello@brianwilson.info

Brian:
Thank you for your kind remarks. I am using a Nikon Super Coolsan 8000ED film scanner to scan my medium format negatives/slides taken by my Hassy 501CM medium format. I am and remain so extremely happy with it eventhough there is now a 9000 model out.

I really enjoy this photo. In fact I very much like your entire portfolio! I have chosen the same approach of shooting film and scanning the neg/slide. I would agree that this approach seems to work really well. Do you mind sharing the name of the scanner you are using currently? Someday I hope to purchase a medium format camera and would like to know if you are happy with the scanner that accepts this size neg/slide. Right now I use the 35mm neg/slide Konica dIMAGE scanner and have no complaints. Cheers, b.
