Very artistic shell photo Eric... the tones are wonderful, as if it's a drawing.
Good work my friend,
Khaled.

splendid Abstract Eric, I think the use of a high ISO was warrented in this shot....Gives the shot more texture and feel to it.
Wonderful presentation.

Best Regards

Ameed,
Thanks for the comment. Normally I agree with you about the ISO. My usual max is 640 during normal shooting and Neat Image will clean it up very well. In this case, however, I wanted the noise from the high ISO to add some grain to the image to help give a bit of a dreamy appearance and also to keep the shot handholdable. In my experience the noise from the D70 is pretty monochromatic so it does a fairly good job of imitating film grain, especially in a picture that does not have super saturated colors.

Very nice capture Eric and great composition, I like the colors and the texture as well, the DOF to is excellent, But why the very high ISO, I am trying to keep my ISO up to 400 max even at night shot, the extreme I would go to is 800, above that, I have problems with Noise,
Very well done Eric, keep up the good work,
Regards,
