The odd cast looks more like a shadow. It is in the same direction and side on both Morgan and the sign. Could there have been a window/auto or something reflecting light right at the moment you took the photo?? The shot is great (as usual) and we enjoy the scrapbook of your family!!

You said to Jan something about not being able to get clear pictures. Looks like camera or subject movement in this shot, but there could be something wrong with your camera. Try cleaning your lens, it won't help with movement blur, but it could help overall.

Try having someone else shoot with your camera, and try shooting with someone else's camera, any digital camera. You are already set up for digital and there are a lot of reasons to stay with it.
