Thank you very much Rafi :) Although I live in the Midlands I was in London last weekend and stayed in Russell Square. I walked through Tavistock Square on Saturday Morning! It's a small World after all!

I am very impressed by the diversity you show in your portfolio. I look forward to seeing more of your work on UseFilm.

Best regards,

Joel Garabedian.

I opted to comment on this unique photo of yours, Mr. Garabidian, for several reasons. The first, obvious one is that I liked it. The other one is that it reminded me of a time in the late sixties at which I saw a similar (stone) sculpture during a trip through Sinai. At that time we saw it at an ancient, abandoned Egyptian mine together with a delapidated sculpture of the head of Khatkhur, Goddess of mines. We were also told by our guides that it was at a place like this that the people employed at such mines (possibly slaves) invented the phonetic alphabeth, using the phonetic equivalent of the first sound of the depicted word as the new letter. Thus a symbol depicting water, like a continuous, wavelike mmm (to be seen in your photo), would now be something like the present letter M, after Mayim (water.) I was reminded of that also at the recent exhibition of a sculptor, an acquaintance, who used the letters of the Hebrew alphabeth as a bases of her sculptures. This ought not mean that I was not impressed by your other photos, such as that of the Hurricane, hero of WWII and so actual in these days of Katerina or the one depicting temperature.
You are, of course, invited to read my bio, (a fact not mentioned there is that I spent the most important year of my career at the Tavistock Center in London and later visited England several times because I came to love it) and pay further visits to my portfolio.
In the meantime I thank you for your very kind comment on my "Fall, green."
Best regards,
Dr. Rafael (Rafi for future communications) Springmann

Apparently the exhibition was put together by '30 of the world's best sand artists'. I know what you mean about the background. The exhibition wasn't very big so it was difficult to compose pictures that didn't show it's edges :)

Regards,

Joel.

Someone is quite adept at sculpting...good light and color make this image work...my only nit is the fencing in the background; only a small distraction...you managed good exposure with good detail in the shadows...excellent
