Gidday Carlos.
They shot ?The Piano" Art movie with harvey Keitel and Anna Paquin up the coast from here at the next beach Kare Kare (also the new adventures of hercules). Further up is glamorous surf at Piha. Whatipu is my favourite spot though. Off the tourist loop. My Grand mother went to ballroom dances in a cave here with the surf splashing up on the dance floor but since then this salt marsh has stretched out a couple of kilometres from the cave. Love it.
