About According to my driver, the Tibetans in this area will start cooking somwhere around 7:30am, however, I have waited for close to 2 hours for the smoke hailed from their kitchen. Feeling a bit dissapointed, I took a walk at the other end of the clift, suddenly I saw these yaks moving towards my shooting spots. Quickly I ran back with exitement and waited for the yaks to appear in my viewfinder. And here is the result.

Interesting shot.

(That's quite a portfolio you have, Steve. Imaginative, with lots of variety.)

I like how the hill is in darkness and the trees are golden with the first light. A study in blue and gold balanced with diagonal lines for added interest.

Congratulations on your 2 HONOURABLE MENTIONS at the 2005 PSA International Exhibition!!

I think the morning mist is enough to create a nice color contrast with blue shade and golden light. And yes, "the early bird..." - it was really worth to rise early and wait some time, the Yaks are very fine personnel for this stage ;-)

Beautiful landscape, the yaks provided a good foreground to the composition, like the atmosphere too. Indeed if it included smoke billowing from the buildings that would make it even more magical, but I like the shot nevertheless. Well done Steve, cheers.
