It does look like an owl, doesn't it? Carolyn, there possibly aren't any owls this size. This bird is a falcon, specifically an American Kestrel (scientific name Falco sparverius) and there are at least two very young ones here in Isleta. They've been attacking the local lizards, eating them raw... Gab
