Hi Roger, pardon me for jumping in. I had the D70 for a year and switched to a D2H (mostly for speed reasons). The D50 has basically the same image sensor, Nikon only optimized the image processing and made the camera a little simpler to reduce cost/price. I was actually considering getting a D50 as a backup camera and second body. I'm sure you will be happy with it.

Beautiful first upload from your new toy, Ed. Hope you don't give up B&W film, though. Your series of children is a continual delight. I'll be interested to see what you make of digital (desaturated) B&W. It's a pretty distinctive "look." The D50 is almost at my price point for a DSLR purchase, so I'll be following your experiences closely.

What a great shot. So sharp and clear and perfect lighting. Aren't you glad you bought a digital? They are fun, aren't they. I will never go back to normal film. Cheers, Ann.
