Darlene - this is absolutely stunning work and I'm not at all surprised you won BIP. My Mum paints landscapes like this in New England and I can't wait to show her your picture of Lake Martin because she'll spend the next month or two with her oils capturing your take on the lake :) Ty for yr comments on Mister goat - I'm very flattered indeed! Beautiful scene, Darlene, though I feel it is a bit too dark. I'm not sure if a graduated ND filter may have helped, or some post-processing with blended layers, to bring back some of the details in the shadow areas.

Darlene t his is just such an amazing scene, and the capture of the mystique and wonderful aura is so great. A wonderful composition. I tried a little lightening, like I wanted to be there, and to have seen it a few minutes earlier ..... itmust have been wonderful to watch this sunset

Glorious sunset!!! Absolutely magical imagery. Every element contributes to the splendor: the hints of sun, the silhouettes, the reflections on the still waters, that perceived oval (like an eye) centered around that tall tree near the middle ... and overall a heavenly aura that exalts my sensibilities, wide opens my senses, excitingly tingles my emotions.
