The "grain" is in reality a digital noise resulting from high ISO speed (1600). It was further accentuated when the picture was sharpened in photoshop.
And yes, I chose not to remove it to add to the rustic feel of the picture.
I really like this photograph, the one aspect I most like about it is the shadows the light gives off....it creates an unusual eye-appealing effect, which in my thoughts is very interesting. Interesting choice of using a film grain, was this for a "rustic" feel?
