it's so clever of you to play with blur on the shadow while keeping it focus on the area where the light is.

I totally agree with you. I am always intrigued by old closed doors and windows, too... It's a thrill to imagine what could be inside. I think that's one of the reasons the Wardrobe from the Chronicles of Narnia was so great... because it could magically transport you to grand new places... :)
I love it, great look, great mood, great composition.

Hello Jeanette....
Please do not fall apart!
This is wonderful stuff. I love the faint feel of the use of focus...... nice colours too.....
I see you have been working hard! Some really excellent stuff in your collection! I've been working hard too, but not photography, but real work..... took away all my time and energy..... So I travelled a little bit to get some time off......
And here I am:

I like this kind of shot, mysterious feeling, creepy. With the blur effect I?m not sure, does not add much to the image IMO, a bit arty for my feel: Regards; Carsten

Very nice work, Jeanette. I like how you have combined a transition from light to dark with a transition from focused to defocused.
So for me the feelings of this image are of transition towards a deteriorating state... to decay and oldness, to darkness and to lack of focus.
Congratulations on an image that evokes feelings, at leat for this viewer.

wonderful detail my dear Jeanette... old houses... closed doors... sealed secrets... love the gradual transition from crisp sunny lighted details to darker blurriness... like a transition from the "real" world to a "memory" one... superb presentation and a fav for its unsettingly nostalgic but alluring mood.... hugs... emy :)

Hi Guido! I have used a special plug-in to PS to create this effect - bith vignette and blur. So the blur are created afterwards, the original shot are sharp!

Dear Jeanette, what I like the most is the mix of textures and colours, and, what I perceive as a fallen shadow of days gone by, births and deaths, cries and laughs. Very emotive display.

This is really interesting, part of the window is in shadow and is slightly blurry and the other part of the window is in the light ahd is sharper with more detail. Nice and interesting contrast that adds an air of mystery and intrigue.
Well done!
