Amazing scenery. Your images make me want to visit here and soon. The image seems a little dark. You might be able to fine tune that with curves and/or level adjustments.

y'know, there's something about that rock in the lower left that i actually like. maybe it's the counterpoint between it's smooth greyness that contrasts with the colours and textures of the rest of the picture. maybe it's that it leads my eye (or forces it to leapfrog over it) into the rest of the frame. not sure why but for me it works. thanks for this striking image pat. cheers russ

Excellent composition and colors yet again, Pat. :) It will have to go in my favorites.
I'm told the Badlands get more colorful as you go up into North Dakota - have you been?

Breathtaking view!
Well, i had to find some kind of drawback here. Seeing some vignetting but it's just a minor nuisance and saying that i feel a little foolish.
The print must be staggering.
7A!

Wonderful colors, and I love the little cloud. I'm not so fond of the hill in the lower left because it doesn't contribute to the flow of the composition, and it blocks part of one of the trees that is an interesting part to me.

This photo also has a very prehistoric feel... can imagine there will be plenty of fossils to be found in this terrain.
Beautiful capture.
Thanks for your comment on my 'Prehistoric viewpoint' photo... your continued support on UF is greatly appreciated )

It's funny you mentioned the SD department of tourism. I meant to put a comment on one of your photos that they should pay you for your photos to use in their ads. Yours are much better than the ones I see on their web site.

Pat, this photo is so beautiful it almost hurts... I love the contrast in the colors, the green then the grey then the blue... a tiny hint of purple and yellow. Added it to my favorites.

I'll have to forward your comments to the SOuth Dakota Dept. of Tourism...
Thw weather in Sept. can be a mix of either very warm or cold, so bring clothes for both. Shouldn't have to worry about snow, unless you get up into the Black Hills.
If you have never seen the badlands before, be prepaired to be impressed. My photos or any other photos cannot replace the feeling you get when you look out across this magnificent wonder.

This picture is very breath taking! I personally don't like the plain rock area at the bottom left corner but it does give a good perspective of the rest of the picture. Congratulations! Ben

Thanks Yamil,
Yes, many fossils. This is where the famous T-Rex Sue was found. Not at this location but within the park. All the fossils are protected and it is illeagle to remove any fossils from the park.

Amazing shot Pat, Great tones and colors. Very nice dof. It reminds me of Drumheller Canada. This place must be very abundant in dinosaur fossils? Thank you for posting this image. I will include this one among my favorites. Take care. Yamil
