I love what you did Margaret! To emphasizing the framing of the boy!!! And the light too! Did you use unsharpening mask or just adjusted the contrast? Thank you so much for going through the trouble of editing the image :)

thanx hansi for your rationalization of this image, i don?t want to disappoint you or anything but the body did that then ran back in got his football and stormed out without looking back :P but that fact that you could interact to this image and see a different story means a lot to me! Glad you liked it :)

Dear Arwa,
That's here I was waiting for you : catching the human soul and communicate your feeling with texture and idea. Of course you could have removed little white trash but I prefer when few changes are done to a photo, especially when we can guess on the thumbnail it's from Arwa...
Take Care

I?ve gone through all comments, with respect to every single person but I?ll go with what Giovanna Griffo said, she really emphasizes the truth, although I personally consider this image a telling story capture rather children candid capture, where more close up concentration happen to the child body talking or expression. To be honest I like it as it is in this category. Super both theme and photographer. Saeed

Hi Arwa,
the textures and the innocent boy make this image. some scene from another worlds, at least for me. I would call this picture "oriental" =)
very good work. like the vignetting.

Very nice catch of this cute boy Arwa, yes, so cute and wonderful expression on his face. What I like most in this picture is the wall and the door, their tones and textures add a lot to the mood of the photo reflecting the poor environment this boy living in. Good work Arwa, keep it up, you're good at children's portraits, bravo, Khaled.

arwa this is delightful, there are so many great tones and textures also in the shot. I am not great at children shots either, but I did wonder if a little lightening and a bit of a crop would concentrate on the gorgeous little boy and his expression. Gave it a go, but do not think it is better than yours - but will attach anyway Margaret

It may well have overexposed the walls, and I find it easier to add exposure to pics than to remove it once there is over-exposure (you can bring details out from the shadows, but cannot add them when they are blown out by light). As for more detail in his hair and skin, have you tried selecting and using levels and/or curves to see what happens when you bring out the mid-tones? That is all I can suggest. But Arwa, the darkness of his skin and hair contrast beautifully with the white clothing and are part of what balances the tonal range in this so beautifully. This is an awesome capture at any time of day, and especially for high noon -- one of the worst times for lighting. Antonia

This is great as is. The little bit of trash is not bothersome at all in my opinion. I enjoy photographing children. My one suggestion is to try and shoot candid, natural shots. Posed shots work for some projects (school portraits, Christmas cards, etc.), but what works best is capturing kids candidly. Hope this helps.

9aba7 el ?7air amna! Now I know what makes your images stand out!!! It?s the way you pay attention to the smallest details, I didn?t notice the trash until you mentioned it, YES cloning it would make it better! I?ll check out the link thank you so much dear

Awww toni that?s so sweet of you!!!!!! Thank you for adding it to your favorites! I was a bit concerned I posted this image before for few hours and didn?t get any response Wished I had some more details in his skin and hair A lower aperture would had made the walls over exposed right? It was around 12 pm too bright Thank you Antonia

Congrats ;-) The boy expression is so cute, I do not have much experience when it comes to children pictures (even though I am still trying) Maybe removing papers and trash in front of the door by cloning will help a bit cuz the door and the walls already tells about the situation of the place. You can also check Benedetto Riba page, I love the way he photographs and edits his photos http://www.usefilm.com/photographer/18163.html

Congratulations Arwa.. :) Now you'll get to post more of your great pix.. I like the kid's expression.. A tip.. mmm.. my only tip is to capture their natural expressions.. While they are talking to you, playing.. don't ever ask a kid to sit and smile.. It never worked for me.. ;)
