I like the mood, tones, and textures a lot... I think the composition is ok but I might have taken a tighter shot in on the door and the window on the left. I agree with what Lea said a little space under the door. Good job can't wait to see more.
Kevin, this is an interesting image with a pretty good tonal range. I think the major problem with this image is the composition. The lower left frame of the door is touching the edge...it needs a bit of space beneath it. And the window on the left is cut in half. This would, I think, have been better had you composed differently, cropping the image just to the left of the door (without the window) and showing more of the building on the right. Or, perhaps, shooting as a horozontal, including all of the window on the left. Also, it does not appear sharp on my screen. I suspect that was caused by the scan. And last, upload a bit larger image. This is only 400 pixels high and so is a bit too small to critique well. Hope I have not offended...but ypu said you wanted critiques.
