This is exactly the kind of feedback I have always wanted on my work. Thank you so much for taking out time to do it. I did increase the contrast to a point where i damaged the midtones. Will be careful next time. Did you notice this damage with other pictures also? because I manipulated them in almost the same way but with a different degree of contrast increase.

Hi Aqeel
Firstly, I am honoured to be on your friends list and will try to give objective criticism. Please remeber i am an amateur also and my opinion may not always be valid.

The one rule I first learned in B&W is to expose for the lightest area of the photograph and the shadows will sort themself out. In this image your highlights, especially near the centre, is a bit overexposed and lost all detail. The same is true for the shadows - pure black with no details. Try not to narrow down the tones too much to ensure a good range of middle-tones between your highlights and your pure blacks. Except of course if you go for a graphic B&W only effect with no grays. The composition is a bit busy altough with some nice diagonal lines - Always try to simplify the compostion - in this case by concentrating on a smaller element of the machine e.g. the coiled springs and ram arm.
