This is an outstanding picture, and deserves more than it has already gotten!
There is some sort of mixture of desperation and disturbance and mistery. You see both boats tied with ropes as if trying to rescue themselves, hanging to something we don't know, from the disturbed and engulfing waves of the sea.
Technically perfect!

Amazing! My absolute favorite. The measureless depth and power of the sky and sea are captured with an almost mysterious appeal. The power of this image is quite affecting. The boats seem to be in service of this impression, rather than distracting from it. The lighting is pure magic. What a wonderful shot!
The monochromatic tone/color choice is brilliant! Deserves a 10 on the scale of 7! Fabulous!

This is a perfect example of the use of B&W to convey a mood. The lines of the ropes converge to draw the eye out to the horizon. Wonderful contrast between the dark sea and white breakers. Nobody can find even the slightest flaw with this one.
