It was hot but not scorching... it was late May 1980 and depending on your age (if you remember it), it was the year Mt.St. Helens really erupted. My friend and I were going to go to the Tetons but the eruption was spreading ash in that area. But I think it must have been a long winter because we really didn't go where we'd be in cold and snow. Anyway Arches ended up our destination and we delighted in the desert climate.
