About I took this picture in my makeshift studio. I used my Nikon FM-10 with a +2 and +4 macro filter. I used a 500 watt flood light with an umbrella reflector to light the flower. I then used two 500 watt floods to light the background. The background was created with some oops paint from Home Depot and painted on a rough basement wall. The original was from a scanned Kodak Kodachrome 64 slide. I took the color version and used a channel mixer adjustment layer to create a monochrome version.

What ever you have done, the most important thing is you looked at it in a different way than most of the people. There are many B&w flower photographs. This I haven't seen before. Well done. Good light and good composition. Brilliant idea.
