Dottie--I've been shopping around. I've had several tripods in the $35-$75 range--all most or less serviceable, more or less disappointing. I think $100-$200 is where I'll have to go for what I want. (Some of these babies go much, much higher!) Anyway, at the moment I think the Manfrotto-Bogen 3000 series is the choice for a slightly heavy sturdy platform (The 3001Pro is probably what I'll get.) and the Velbon Maxi series for very light weight. Let me know how it goes . . .

hi george i see a great mystical moment.. the cut and the piint of view is unusal and perfect with the 3/4 cutting!
the two stairs are incredible.. goes on in the up of the church!
