We only had one day (Sunday) of sight-seeing during this business trip. We decided to see the Great Wall at Mutianyu, the less crowded option north of Beijing. The cable car gets you up the hill and onto the wall. However, serious hiking and climbing begins right away.
We took the ?left? route and had only 90 minutes to get back to the group. Our ambition was to make it all the way up to the top of the hill, but the wall is in disrepair north of the large watch tower at the bottom of the top third. That middle piece of the wall was intense enough, though.
