Hi Chris,
Thanks for the comments on the waterfall shot.
I really had to go to town to get the exposure to slow down enough to get teh silky water effect!
I know what you mean about the sharpening. I use the High Pass Filter method (I'll explain if you've not done it this way - mail me back) which means you can vary the opacity of the sharpening layer till you're happy with the result.
I went for the softer look in the end as it looked more natural on my monitor - but I'll try your suggestion 0 maybe use a mask to just sharpen the rocks etc.
Cheers
Ade

thanks for the kind comments on my waterfall shot.
I see what you mean about the ghost figure at the top of the shot - it's actually a winding mechanism for letting water over through a sluice gate (I think - you can't get clse without getting wet feet!).
It's a super place to get some nice photos - no large waterfalls, but lots of little ones with varyting textures and rock forms.
If you like them there are more here on my site....

Spectacular scene ade! Very nice job with the slower shutter speed to allow the water to look like a vial! Just beautifull! My best................JOHN

The top left corner there is a whitish shape that looks like a ghost getting ready to slide down the broken branch of the tree trunk. Very spooky!
Besides that the colors are beautiful and I love the soft water effect. Very clam and peaceful.

Nice shot...I like the composition and colors, also the chosen exposure values were a good choice, I think this could be sharpened slightly more,to bring out some of the hidden details in the water and the leaves/rock. Good eye for this scene,
Chris
