Hey Matt! I didn't realise that you were so close! I'm living in Burnaby...
Anyways, back to your image!
I really think that the colours add a nice feel to the shot, although I really wish that there was a lot more depth of field. If you had gotten onto a tripod you could have had a longer shutter speed and more DOF to keep all the water drops in focus.
As for this shot, perhaps cropping more of the left off would make it so the part that is in focus doesn't run right down the middle.
I'm not sure what the black is at the top of the image (corner of a house?) but I find that it really helps to anchor the web, giving a nice heaviness to the image and the fact that the same darkness is repeated in the drops is great.
Congrats on seeing such a wonderful shot to begin with!
