this group of elk were hanging out before the clouds rolled in and made visibility rough, there was probably about 30 of them on the mtn side, along with two bull elks, none of those turned out good with the digital, i will have film later which had a 300mm lens on it so hopefully closer view of the animal. fun day even though it was cloudy!!!!! but we had a bit of sunshine in the afternoon, near lake irene.... great fun there!!!!!!
Very cool work Phil, I'll keep an eye out for your snowboard shots. I live right near Vail and I've been shooting the last few days, so i'll have some new snow shots soon!
hey ryan, thanks for the comments, i allways know that you will come through with some notes on the photo's i upload, i was at about 12,000 feet for this photo, a storm was rolling in and the clouds are at ground level here, we actually drive through them, kind of cool to do, thanks agian for the comments i love lookin at your images and remembering jersey, and also wishing i did more photography there
That's quite a vantage point you had there. The clouds and valley below make for a nice backdrop, and I think your use of a vertical orientation helped set it off as well. Nice image.
