yes I guess my intent was that I didn't want the top available because then there was a conflict for your interest from the light in the water to the top of the peak. I had to make a decision as to what was this about mostly in my mind. So I cropped the mountain top to achieve that end. Tjanks for taking the time to look over my images and making comments. Regards Tim Schumm....AKA... Bartock.

If it snows there where all that water is.....then there must be lots of it for sure. You used to live in the prairies here in Canada did'nt you? I must say that yours and Malennon's photos in China are very inspiring. I would love to visit some time in the near future.

nice shot bartock. the colours are quite good. some useful criticism from konstantin, but in the end, a photo is whatever the photographer (artist) likes to see... i haven't done any winter photography yet, but hope to try some this coming winter season.

Hi Lee, thanks for the vote. On this day I shot over 700 photos as the day seemed perfect with all the elements right there waiting to be captured. Going digital helped in getting such volume. There is no way that I would have taken this number with my 35 mill. Cheers, Bartock

I'd step closer and shoot one with a wide angle lens to include the mountain on the right. Then, we'd have a running perspective from right to left since the mountain on the right is further out. Quite possible it would be easy since there are trees in the way. A good stretch of water beneath on wide angle pano with afore mentioned suggestion could be worth it IMHO. Hey, I never said I don't like the original :)

I cropped the mountain top as I found that if it was included it was competing for attention from what I thought was the focus of this shot. Mainly the light coming on to the lake surface. I was hoping that cropped it would heighten the drama of this scene. That said I will look at the original again and reevaluate the photo once again. Thanks for the insight, Konstantin.

I am missing the top of the mountain on the right. Otherwise, I like it a lot.

I'm just glad that my retinas are still working! There was such tonal contrast in some of these shots I was glad that I got what I did. Maybe some more PS work and I can fix it up more. Thanks..... bartock

Stunning landscape, Bartock. Great composition, DOF and color saturation. I feel like I'm there. I do wish the reflection were not so burned out and that the light blue patch of sky were darker, but just quibbing. Good work.
