another old dusty negative i pulled out of my collection. i took this photo at an old factory that was being torn down to make way for the new 210 freeway in Rialto, CA
I like the look of this too and the gritty feel it conveys. The big white thing in the center dominates a little too much IMO so I took a look at the negative which I found to be a little more balanced strangely enough. Cleaned off some dust too :-)
hi pal!Hows life?these r my kinda pics.before me gonna make a comment lemme say tis,as a friend I'he been expectin ur viwes on my pics! tis is a good job,no dobt abt it.tat white board leads my eyes n' tat makes the"RESTING MACHINES'S rusted metals lees prominat.I would have focous on the metal patrs n then without refocouin n'move the cam on tat white boadr without chingin shutter speed/aperture tat woud eleminate the bright white far less n' metalic objectes comeout. shutterspeed 1600(!!),aperture f/512(is it possible!?!.) the last thing I would have done is cleanin the negetive/scan a print n do some adjustment wtt PS. happy hunting, keep on shooting(not through guns shights, only through TTL...lol!). This does have a unique quality to it, in that it looks like it was taken in the 1930's or something. As far as the "dusty neg" goes, unless you intentionally left it this way, it's always good to clean the neg before scanning.
